There are many ways to get web traffic free. Look at just ten of them:

1. Blogging. You can set up a blog and write blogs about your website, and this method will work. A blog is a website where a person comments on ongoing events periodically and presents a person’s point of view on certain things or events. They are usually linked to websites and can generate a substantial amount of traffic.

2. Linking to other sites and from them. A very popular method, just make sure the content of the site you’re linking to and getting links from is similar to your site, but not the same. Also, ask for the web master’s permission , some of them may have objections if you link to a page other than their home page.

3. A very good way is writing articles and submitting them to popular ezines. Doing this periodically can bring a lot of traffic too.

4. Enlist your site into hot internet directories.

5. Participating in forums. Wikipedia classifies forums as a Web application for holding discussions and posting user generated content. Internet forums are also commonly referred to as Web forums, message boards, discussion boards, (electronic) discussion groups, discussion forums, bulletin boards, fora (the latin plural) or simply forums. Systematic participation and having a reputation of the expert may help to drive very targeted traffic to the person’s site.

6. Exchange banners with another web site owner.

7. Search engine optimization. Web masters who are doing SEO are strongly divided in their opinions about search algorithms, especially for Google. Nobody really knows them and there are a lot of rumors. One of them – how Google ranks duplicate content. I’ve seen many duplicates that ranked in Google well. There are many other inconsistencies. Some “gurus” complain about complexity of the optimization, others deny these complains saying that there are very few rules that need to be followed to get a good ranking. In any case, search engines keep their algorithms in secret and frequently change them, making SEO harder then it should be.

8. Email marketing. This way to get web traffic free is also very effective. Most of people receiving emails opt to be on the mailing list beforehand and look for news in this particular area.

9. Making a Newsletter.

10. Social marketing strategies. They are the latest techniques that allow to get web traffic free. Web2.0 consists of many elements and a detailed explanation will make this article too lengthy, it is a topic for another article.

How To Write Articles That Get Increased Web Traffic

Posted on November 29th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

“What would you say is the most important element of writing articles to get more web traffic ?” was the left of field question thrown at me at the end of a seminar. It’s a great question, so here are some proven pointers.

First, enjoy doing some research. Think about properly researched keywords so that the people looking for a solution to their problem will actually find your article. (Remember, I said ‘enjoy’ – don’t let article writing be a heavy chore!

Second, generate a killer title to make them want to read the article. I consider it close to being the most important part of the whole article marketing equation because you need the right keyword phrase in your title for it to generate interest. Do your long-tail keyword research and use the keyword in the title and as backlink to improve your organic rankings over time.

Third, spend time writing a well constructed article (intro, meat of article, summary) that keeps people engaged. Try to have your keyword phrase in the first sentence, maybe in the middle and definitely at the end of your article.

Now, this may sound obvious, but have decent content within your article body – there should be natural flowing text using paragraphs/sub headings, or bullets. You want to lead your reader from the start of your article to the bottom right into your resource box.

Some people say that proper grammar and punctuation isn’t necessary, but I think it is. If you can’t even take the time to go over everything once or twice, then why should I take the time to read your article?

Make sure that your articles are easy on the eyes. Trying to read a wall of text is one of the most annoying things in the world, and will turn off a lot of your potential readers. Most people will read your article on-screen, and probably skim rather than read intently.

You could find that you have little success when you start out but as you build your reputation as a writer your web traffic will increase exponentially. (This will happen when people start seeing your name more often and become familiar with your writing style.) The more people see a name, the more they trust it. After all, that’s part of the reason why companies like to put up lots of billboards.

The reason I say that is because one big ingredient of article marketing success is quantity. And while – rightly – most article “how-to’s” focus on quality (which is vital), the quantity of articles that you generate will not only increase the occurrences of your backlinks but it will also increase your reputation.

And remember, write an article, not a sales pitch. Write something that’s fun to read and that’s useful. Someone used the phrase ‘Useful but Incomplete’ which I think sums it up. Don’t waste people’s time and attention with articles that tell you nothing. Solve a small problem and hint at the way to solve a bigger one. Don’t pad an article to get to an arbitary length. but don’t cut it down so much that it’s useless either. Make your point and get out.

Next, spend time developing a well constructed resource box to get people to go to your site. Your resource box needs to be a call to action. Write an enticing author resource box that gives the reader a reason to click on the link. Offer something where it is hard to say no, for example the answer to his problem or a freebie.

Then submit to the directories where the traffic is and where Google is showing some love – you can easily determine that by running a keyword search with Google using your selected keyword phrase. If you write decent articles that are of interest to your market, and you do it consistently, you will attract more web traffic. And they will be warm prospects since they’re already interested enough to click through after reading your article.

Finally, I would add that an absolutely key element to successful article marketing is to keep doing it! Posting 5 articles and expecting a lot of web traffic isn’t realistic. You need to be posting new articles to the top dozen or so article directories – in the proper categories – every week. Do that, and you will enjoy the real thrill of increased web traffic and aa rapidly growing list. Good luck!

How to Get Targeted Web Traffic to your Blog

Posted on November 28th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

Do you have trouble getting targeted web traffic to your blog? Let’s just say hypothetically you have just got someone to create a nice looking blog, perhaps paid good money for it too and you’ve started posting nice things about your best home based internet business too. But you don’t want it to be just that, a nice looking blog. You do want more people other than your family and perhaps your next door neighbor visit this blog. In this article, I am going to share with you 5 great tips to get targeted web traffic to your blog. I am focusing on areas where I think, some people are not familiar with and others totally unaware of.

1. The Title Tag

Most people already know that the post title plays an important part in how well your blog post will rank in search engines. Besides the post content, this is going to help you bring targeted web traffic to your blog and ultimately your internet home business. So the words or phrases you choose which should contain your main keyword must provide a hint of what you are going to write and entice the reader to continue reading it. If he does that, you have achieved the goal of the title. Or have you?

There is actually a way to change your title specifically for the search engine without altering what the readers see and what you want them to see. The answer lies in the ‘All in One SEO Pack’ which is found in your wordpress blog. If you understand that search engines look at this title tag, you can use it to your advantage. It’s like killing two birds with one stone.

2. Submit To Directories

Submitting your blog to a lot of wesbite directories is time consuming but it is very important in getting one way links and improving link popularity. Remember with each directory that you submit to, it takes you a step closer in ranking high in search engines. For submitting to RSS Directories I recommend getting a free Firefox plugin called ‘Submit’em Now’ to automate this submission. It is especially useful for marketers with more than one blog to submit.

3. Social Bookmarking

Almost every marketer I know use social bookmarking so I guess there isn’t a need to explain what this is and how it benefits us. Essentially it allows the flexibility in which anyone who visits and likes a site can easily click on their favorite bookmarking site and bookmark it. What I use for my blog is a service called Onlywire.com. It has 18 bookmarking sites and you just need to spend a one-time effort to join these 18 sites. Then each time after you have finished a blogpost, you just login to Onlywire.com and post once to bookmark all 18 bookmarking sites. It’s really that simple. Of course this is a free site and the paid ones would give you more bookmarking sites.

4. Squidoo and HubPage

A Squidoo and HubPage are quite similar in that it lets you write and focus on a specific topic. Google loves them especially HubPage, which links back to your blog. The good thing about Squidoo lens and Hubpage is that they allow you to bring in your RSS Feed. So when you update your blog, both your lens and HubPage get updated too. The same visitor who goes to your lens is able to find your RSS feed to your blog too. In this way, you will get more targeted web traffic coming to your blog.

5. Create A Checklist

I recommend creating a simple checklist or small excel spreadsheet listing down some of these ways and commit to a plan to follow and execute it daily or weekly. You may already be doing a number of other different ways to bring targeted web traffic, but more importantly, this checklist allows you to monitor your own results. Keep those that work and discard others that don’t and eventually you will have the most perfect plan there is in bringing huge amount of web traffic to your blog.

I may have given you some nice ideas to get more web traffic to your blog, but it takes time to make this a reality especially if your blog is new. You also need to put in much effort in doing weekly blogposts, hubpages and daily blog comments and others in your checklist. If you follow this plan consistently, be prepared for stoppable high targeted web traffic coming to your blog and ultimately to your best home based internet business.

How To Get Free Web Traffic

Posted on November 27th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

There are many so called miracle solutions advertised on the internet but trust your judgement and leave them well alone. The best way to obtain free web traffic is using proven methods which are used day in day out by successful pros

Here are our free tips …..

Article Marketing

A perennial winner. By writing and publishing articles you will be seen by a large targeted audience which could turn into website visitors. Write articles which relate to your site content and make sure it is an article and not just a free advert for your business. By creating stunning articles you will be published by a host of article directories and that leads to immediate viral traffic as well as helping to build up your own website link popularity. Search engines like this when they index websites and web pages. The more articles published the more web traffic.

Press Releases

Put together a press release about a new product or service you provide and send it too as many PR Agencies as possible. You can find these agencies on the internet fairly easily. We are not going to say that getting your press release published will be easy but remember PR Agencies rely on receiving such press releases to make their business work. Spend time on writing one stunning press release which will appeal to a lot of people and submit to all the PR Agencies.

Link Building

Try and build as many one way links from other external sites to your own web site. Our advice is only target “relevant” or “similar” sites to your own. You can also buy targeted one way links but be careful who you buy these from. Never get involved in link farms, reciprocal links or similar concepts. The search engines will penalise you for doing so when they come to index your web pages.

Search Engines

Never use free submission services to submit your site to search engines. Most search engines will not accept them. It is a tedious job but always manually submit your site to search engines. You will be rewarded with better list rankings

Directories

Duplicate the same train of thought with directory submissions as with search engine submissions. The same basic principals apply and the rewards are good!

10 Effective Ways to Increase Web Traffic

Posted on November 26th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

Today, there are many ways to increase web traffic to your website. Some of them bring more traffic to your site, but some don’t. Here are 10 of effective ways that can make your pages experience a traffic explosion.

1. Trading links with other web sites that related to the subject of your web site can bring you more web site traffic. Instead of trading links, you could also trade banner ads, half page ads, classified ads, etc. Moreover, a lot of banner exchanges offer free banner impressions just for signing up. Here are just a few banner exchanges website that offer free banner impressions:

http://www.purelybannerz.co.uk
http://www.linkswap.co.uk/
http://www.click4click.com/

You will find banner exchanges that offer free banner impressions more if you do a search for “banner exchange” on any search engine.

If you don’t have a banner for your web site you can create one for free at:

http://www.addesigner.com/

2. Start an e-zine for your web site. When people read each issue they’ll be reminded to revisit your web site. They’ll see your product ad more than just once which will increase your orders.

P.S If you want to start building a list but have no auto responder for capturing leads, you can get a very cheap auto responder here:

http://www.aweber.com

3. Form an online community. It could be an online message board, e-mail discussion list or chat room. When people get involved in your community they will regularly return to communicate with others.

4. Write articles and submit them to e-zines, web sites and magazines that accept article submissions. Include your business information and web address at the end of the article. Here are the best places to submit your articles:

http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.ezinearticles.com
http://www.ideamarketers.com
http://www.contentdesk.com

You can also use Article Marketer which is a paid service and I recommend using it to save you time. Just click below for more information.

http://www.articlemarketer.com

If you don’t want to write article by yourself, you could outsource article writing for around $5 per article at these sites:

http://www.rentacoder.com
http://www.elance.com

5. Give away an electronic freebie with your ad on it. Allow your visitors to also give the freebie away. This’ll increase your ad exposure and increase web traffic to your web site at the same time.

6. Combine your products or services into one big package deal with other businesses offerings. You could share a web site and advertise the package deal; which means double more web site traffic.

7. Submit your freebie to the online directories that list your particular item or service for free. If you’re offering a free e-zine, submit it to all the free e-zine directories on the internet.

8. Participate on message boards. Post answers to other people’s questions, ask questions and post appropriate information. Include your signature file at the end of all your postings.

9. Exchange classified or sponsor ads with other free e-zine publishers. If there is a huge subscriber difference between e-zines, one can run more ads to make up for it.

10. Post your ad on free advertising areas on the internet. You can post it on free classified ad sites, free for all links sites, newsgroups that allow ads, free yellow page directories, etc.

5 Free Ways to Jumpstart your Web Traffic

Posted on November 26th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

So you have your own website. Congratulations. Now, what exactly are you doing to get people to visit your site? Just like a brick and mortar storefront or an office suite in the commerce park, your website isn’t just going to become a popular hangout spot for clients and prospective customers. You’ve got to tell everyone about it!

When you open a restaurant, you put up signs, you take out a newspaper ad, you buy space in the yellow pages, you turn on the lights, you open the door, you tell everyone you meet about your new business. Your website deserves the same treatment. If you fail to promote your site, you’ve basically just spent a thousand dollars or more on a standard lot in cyberspace with no roads in and no roads out. You need to get the word out on your new company website, and here’s the best part… it doesn’t have to cost anything at all, if you’re willing to take the time and make the effort to do it yourself.

So…how does a small business owner jumpstart his or her website? You may consider hiring a professional to do it for you. Your web design and development firm built your site for visitors, but probably did not include promotion along with it. A good ad agency will raise the topic when quoting on your site. An experienced marketer knows it’s always best to group your promotions and cross-sell at every opportunity and should have suggested handling your web traffic. But in case they missed the boat, you can still contact a full-service ad agency to help. Of course, that’s not the FREE methods mentioned in the title of this piece, so for those who’d like to take a shot at handling it themselves, this article tells you 5 FREE steps to jumpstarting your web traffic:

1. Connect the Cables

2. Start the Engine

3. Get it Running

4. Give it Some Gas

5. Put it in Drive

Everyone who’s ever owned a car long enough to pay off the loan knows that an indispensable part of the trunk contents is a set of jumper cables (the other is a gallon of water). You never know when you’ll be stuck somewhere with a car that just won’t get going. Same with your website. It’s there, but it’s going nowhere unless you first get it connected to something that’s already running or capable of running. Whether you already have established business or not, you’ve got to connect your website to every promotional piece you create. This means adding your web address to:

- company stationery (business cards, letterhead, envelopes, invoices, quote sheets, receipts)

- business signage (windows, counter displays, and company vehicles)

- ads (yellow pages, newspapers, and local magazines)

- everything else (boxes, bags, cartons, promotional pieces and more)

Everything that gets your name and phone number, gets your URL (web address). This shouldn’t cost you anything if you wait until it’s time to reprint. But, if you want to get started today, you’ll need to redesign and reprint new promotional pieces to add your site. Since jumpstarting requires the cables be connected, it’s a great way to get your site visited sooner rather than later.

It’s important not to lose track of one key point, there are 2 sets of clamps on a set of jumper cables. You must make sure your website is sending the right message back to visitors. It must look and feel like your existing promotional pieces. Your brand identity is dependent upon it. And your website must clearly identify who you are, where you are and what you do. Your contact information is as critical online as it is on your business cards. Make sure the electrical current is flowing freely between both vehicles if you’re ever going to get rolling!

Okay. So your cables are connected, and now it’s time to start the other engine. The most important engine on the internet is the search engine. You want to become very friendly with Mr. Search Engine – because he knows lots and lots of people. You want his friends to be your friends. Search engines, and their brothers, Directories are the traffic cops of the internet. They basically tell people where to find the files and pages they’re looking for out of billions of documents on the world wide web. So…you can’t have them over for dinner, but…you can get them to know about you by sending them an invitation to visit your site.

Search engines use robots and spiders to crawl all over the web and take inventory of the files and their content, it’s a computerized process. You can wait weeks to be crawled, or you can help the process along by submitting your URL to the search engines directly. Well over 80% of internet users take their first step via a search engine like Google, AltaVista, or HotBot.

Directories like Yahoo, employ humans to compile lists of websites and web pages from the millions available online at any given time. You can also help the directories find you by submitting your site to the proper subdirectory inside these engines. Directories will “consider” your site on a free submission. If you want a guarantee, you’ll have to pay for it.

So, as soon as your website is complete and live, SUBMIT. List your site on as many FREE (there it is again) engines as you can find. Check out www.directoryguide.com for a list. You should resubmit your site every few months especially if you have had content changes, page additions or other major changes to your website. Make sure you submit to the “local” yellow pages and white pages online too. Most offer free listings for businesses.

If you haven’t already done so, confirm that your web developer added page titles and keywords to your website. If you aren’t using metadata like this, you need to. Search engines utilize the keywords and compare them to your content. They return your title and page descriptions in search results. Don’t expect the best ranking without metadata, so call on a pro to get your pages optimized. Consider your keywords carefully. They will be ones that are basic to your business or industry. Put the most important words and phrases first in the list.

Search engines like the popular sites. So, another way to make your site attractive to the search engines is to have lots of friends. The way to gain popularity is to have lots of good websites linking to your website. When a search engine returns results, they rank the pages based on relevancy and popularity. Your goal is to always be in the top five or ten listings returned on a search. Popularity pays off in ranking your site higher than other less noticeable sites (thousands of them!).

Getting popular doesn’t have to mean spending money. Sure you could spend thousands and thousands on ads to get onto the first page of search results (basically buying your friends), but why? If you can get your site linked up, you’ll get the engines fired up about you. You’ll find more info in steps 4 and 5 below.

Step 3 – Get it Running. Once the engine starts up, you need to let it run for a while to get the power flowing to your site. While it’s idling out in cyberspace, run off with promote your site via email. There are two email tactics you need to think about. The first is your email signature, the second is email marketing.

Your signature is unique, and your unique web address is as important as your name and phone number in the closing of every email you send out (business and personal). You and your employees must include your company’s digital signature. It should include a clickable link to your URL. This form of viral marketing is both FREE, and easy. Your email software will have a place to format your digital signature. Find it and use it.

Email marketing is one of the most effective tools to market your website and to showcase products and services. Permission-based email can be extremely targeted by including only those people who’ve expressed an interest in your business, product or industry. By building and maintaining your own house list, you ensure you’re compliance with anti-spam laws. There are also reputable list brokers who can help you choose a list of email addresses to prospect to with an offer, coupon, or other introductory special. Of course, list rental isn’t free, but you can certainly start building a list of your own with friends, family and current customers. You can ask for email addresses and permission to send on every inquiry your company receives both online and off. Build your list, keep it clean and offer an easy way for people to unsubscribe or opt out. Most important, send relevant and targeted content, a clear call to action, and pay close attention to your subject line. You want your mail to be opened, read, and acted upon. Armed with this info, you can easily create simple text emails for FREE!

Done correctly, email marketing will become an extremely powerful tool for sales and customer service. When you’re ready to make your email campaigns even more diverse, in-depth and creative, call on a professional marketer. But whether you keep it simple by doing it yourself, or hire someone for the task, don’t let this one get by you.

Pushing down the pedal helps boost the power. Step 4 of our FREE Steps to Jumpstarting your Web Traffic involves content. Quality content makes the difference between visited and forgotten. Hopefully, when you created your website, you included the kind of useful information web surfers are looking for. Your content is what makes your website important, it’s what keeps people coming back, and it’s what helps you rank in the search engines. Keep your content relevant, current, and easy to navigate. Some examples of content that you should include on your site, and keep updated, include:

- instructions for assembling and using your products

- technical specifications

- maintenance schedules

- warranty and upgrade information

- frequently asked questions (FAQs)

- articles/information bits on your industry, products, or services

You’re already an expert in your field, so show it off online! Write hints and tips, articles (like this one!) and more. Post this information on your website, but also, submit it to article and press release websites. These types of directories house hundreds of articles on all different topics. If you can’t write, then visit an article site and download some relevant content to use on your website. Here’s the bonus: if you write and submit, your bio and website link go with your article. Anyone who wishes to use your content must keep your bio and links intact. BAM! You just added links throughout the world wide web, back to YOUR site! Watch those FREE rankings go up in the search results! Giving your website some gas by filling it up with quality content is step number four in our 5 FREE Steps to Jumpstarting Your Website.

When steps 1-4 are complete, you’re ready to turn the key and shift into drive. You’re marketing your website on all your promotional material (for free), your site is ranking with the search engines (for free), you’re sending regular email messages to customers and growing your list (also for free), and you’re keeping your content relevant to both customers and potential customers (again…for free!). So now it’s time to take off! Once your site is doing things to help grow your business, it’s time to turnover it over with step 5 — new ideas. If you’ve started your website for Ecommerce, it’s time to enhance customer service. If you’ve begun as info only, it’s time to sell or take orders online. If your restaurant started a site just to add its menu, then it’s time to take customers in the kitchen, show them what their meal takes, what it’s made of, what you’re made of. Whatever you do, don’t just jumpstart your traffic, then sit back and watch everyone drive past you.

The final step to jumpstarting traffic is really not the end of the road. The internet is different daily. Search engines change their algorithms, new technology is available almost by the minute, consumer tastes and preferences are in a constant state of flux. In this environment, you need to keep your website and marketing tools up to date if you want to stay competitive. Subscribe to free E-zines, newsletters and other information sources that will keep you current on what’s new and what’s hot. Keep your marketing efforts tuned up and it will always be rush hour on your website.

What Is a Blog? Can a Blog Be Powerful and Increase Web Traffic?

Posted on November 25th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

A blog is a diary you have on the World Wide Web, the Internet. The word blog is short for Web log – it is just the two words pushed together. There are no doubt that blog are the “it” thing today in the online world, and it`s used for both personal and business purposes. Blogposting, the online diary, has spread across the internet like wild fire, and is one of the fastest growing trends and many Internets “gurus” think, that it is a “must” to do blogging. With the hunger for new advertising platform, which is both innovative and cost effective, blogs seems like the next location for the big bucks of advertisers.

There are many advantages of running a blog, on top of your business web site. A Blog can be a very useful tool to boost your business and to keep your customers updated on the products and info`s you have. Customers come back to visit your blog if you make sure to post frequently and be sure to top post good content in your articles and breaking news. You can have your own blog up running in minutes from several sites, that provide this service. With a blog you do not need to worry about HTML (hypertext markup language) and in most cases it is free, as well.

You might ask yourself why I would want to create a blog, if I run a website? Because it`s a great way to make money. A blog provides a quick, often free way to publish you content on the web and an easy way to link to your website for more traffic. So if you want a powerful business make sure to link your blog to your website and the other way around. It will increase more traffic and this is important for any webmaster, who wants to make money, because it all converts to more traffic and more traffic means more people purchasing your product.

When you own a blog, which has genuine exchange of ideas,it can evolve onto a good platform to network and grow you business. It is easier to impress potential customers with a strong and valid point of view rather than a price quote. Having a blog can fetch you a lot of web traffic without any effort at all. Search engines tend to rank sites with content favourably.

Since a blog posts fresh content to the site on daily basis, the information, at such a place, is kept fresh and current is making it a preferred destination for visitors. The web is about information – current and meaningful ones, so as the information in the blog gets updated with rich information so does the ranking on the search engines increase.

Like in traditional sea, your blogging should be around a central theme or keyword. Too many themes may dilute the consistency of your content and score you down the lane and SEO. Sticking to a central theme will help you to enrich the content of your pages and get favouring scoring in the search engine ranking algorithms. Blogging is being used by many sites as a way to passively draw targeted traffic and search engine rankings. Installing one can help you draw web traffic and get noticed quickly by the search engines.

Let me explain that in a little more detail. For most search engines there are two major factors in how well you rank. First is the content of your site and second are the links to your site. Meaning the more keyword focused content, and the more links you have the higher you will rank in the search engines.

We all know it does not pay to be listed number one million out of five million for a keyword. So everyone is competing for the top ten spots. Well, the quickest and easiest way to rank above the others is to add tons of keywords and helpful content to your site. The more value you add to the Internet the more value you will get out of it. So you can help yourself by helping others and providing knowledge, for free, in the form of content. A blog creates a very easy way to publish this content, because it will publish you content to the web, as soon as you are done typing, and best of all there are no HTML skills required, and you can immediately publish the content for people to read.

I will tell you about another very important detail. It is not enough to publish your posts. You must remember to ping your blog. Blog and ping have become the talk of the SEO forums lately. These techniques together can be powerful at getting any website, no matter how small or large but indexed almost immediately, by the major search engines, and for free. If you are a webmaster then you know how frustrating it can be to be able to get your site listed and indexed in the major search engines, in reasonable amount of time.

You spend hours creating your site, adding content, checking keyword and then take the time to hand submit your site to all the major search engines like Yahoo, Google, AOL, MSN and then wait, and wait for the spiders to come index your web pages. If you are lucky they may come by this week, this month, or even this year but you want to be listed as fast as possible. Now there are some ways you can get the spiders to visit you site sooner, within 48 hours, without spending a dime.

By blogging and pinging, as a strategy, it can be a major tool to getting any of your sites listed quickly on the search engines. With a proper research you could very well be on you way to getting your site indexed and listed fast, within hours.

Increasing High Web Traffic Hits

No website should be an island. After all, what’s the point of going online if you can not get people to notice you? it is all about driving web traffic to your site and if your site reception has been cold to lukewarm, there are ways to make people sit up and take notice. Here is how:

Two words: great content.

Highly informative, well written and useful content cannot be emphasized enough. This is important to give your site respectability and make it interesting enough to go back to, refer and link with. Make the write up interesting, keyword rich and attention grabbing. Remember that you will be competing with thousands, if not, millions of other write ups out there, so make sure you stand high above the crowd.

Make the Top 10.

Lists are a favorite with many visitors, especially if they are useful, relevant and real. And you do not even have to stick to the number 10. Make it 5, 7, 12, 20, 101, just as long as the list is irresistible. Tips are some of the most popular, while resources, myths, facts and names of experts also attract a lot of attention. Target a category that is as specific as possible and you might just find your list.

Track your audience.

We are not encouraging you to be a sneaky stalker. It is just that later on your site will be attracting regular visitors, those who pick up your news, articles, press releases, etc. Take advantage of this chance and send these good people special offers on exclusive content and news. Explain that it is not offered to anyone else and that you are giving it to them because of the frequency of their visits.

Provide freebies and useful online tools.

Hold contests from your site. Competitions not only drive web traffic to your site, they also make effective link bait. Get people to take your surveys or give you feedback in exchange for free samples. You can also provide online tools that people can use tests, quizzes, maps and calculators. You get more links if people see that your site is more than just content, ads and discussion boards.

Brew up some controversy.

When used correctly, controversy is a great tool to use for increasing high web traffic hits to your site. And by correctly, we mean being classy about creating controversy and not being a jerk. Write an article, report or blog that is reasonable enough to challenge popular notions, assumptions and beliefs. It can also be about a person, a company or an event. Get more exposure in chat rooms, forums and other blogs.

If your write up is great, it should generate enough heavy web traffic from opposing parties. Some of your web traffic may also come from people who agree with your point of view. If you choose this path, make sure you do it in a professional manner. You want your followers and visitors to respect you. Offend them and you can be sure they won’t be back.

Cover an important event.

If your site has a particular industry theme and there is an important event that will have a high volume of attendees, go and cover it. Take note of the happenings, meet people, make friends, take photographs and videos, get detailed notes. And to make sure no one misses the fact that you were there, tell everyone that a coverage of the event will be posted on your site. Couple that with a great write up, a killer layout and you will lead web traffic right to your site.

Make the right connections, promote your coverage and make sure you post it on time. Have the write up and photos ready to view on your site within 1 to 2 days after the event, 3 days max. Take advantage of the freshness to keep the web traffic heading for your direction.

Making Web Traffic Come to you

Posted on November 23rd, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

If you want online business to be successful you need to have traffic to your website. Your can spend hundreds on website design and have the best products on the market, but the only way to sell your products and services is to have consistent and targeted traffic. It’s not always easy to get the kind of website traffic that you’re looking for. In order to get the correct type of website traffic you will need to expend your time, energy, and possibly money.

There are many different ways to get traffic for your website. You should research, evaluate and implement the various strategies and methods that are available to you. You do need to realize that it does take time for any traffic generator to produce results. The amount of time required depends on which method you select. Some approaches to targeted and qualified web site traffic may take longer than you expect, so don’t give up.

It is essential to test different methods or approaches in getting traffic to your site. You should keep trying different methods until one works for you. The more common methods of generating web traffic are search engine optimization, pay per click search engine advertising and link popularity.

Search engines are the number one way of driving visitors to web sites. They are very useful in helping people find the information they need on the Internet. Major search engines develop and maintain their own databases of web sites. These web sites can be searched by using keywords in the search boxes. Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of studying search engines to determine how to get your web site ranked higher on the user searches. Search engines account for over 80% of visitor traffic to web sites. There is available software that helps in search engine optimization and ranking report generation.

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is when an advertiser pays for every click that sends a search engine visitor to an advertiser’s web site. This type of advertising requires an advertiser to bid on key words or phrases chosen by the advertiser. The PPC search engine allows you to buy a top position in results for a particular word or phrase that you chose. These types of search engines deliver targeted and qualified visitors to you web site at an economical advertising cost.

Link popularity advertising depends on the number of web pages that link to your website. Link popularity is important because it increases the number of visitors to your website and the different ways people can find your website. If you only have a few links it will be hard for people to find your website. Your search engine rank can also be improved by increasing the number of relevant and quality websites that have incoming links to your website.

Although there are other ways to advertise your website these three ways are the most popular and have had the most success in the past. If you are new to internet marketing you should try a few of these methods until you find the one that works best for your site.
