Twitter LoveOnce Twitter’s arch-nemesis, St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa is now buddy-buddy with the primetime startup. Need proof? Cardinals fans at tonight’s baseball game were treated to a ceremonial opening pitching by none other than Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s Creator and Co-founder.

According to USA Today, Dorsey got some pitching advice from La Russa and then “floated a pitch in the general direction of Cardinals infielder Joe Thurston.”

The milestone event pretty much puts to bed the former quarrel between La Russa and Twitter, which had the baseball manager suing the company for trademark infringement, cybersquatting and misappropriation of name and likeness. While that lawsuit was eventually settled amicably out of court, it actually spawned the early release of Verified Accounts, which was big news at the time.

In addition to throwing the first pitch, both Biz Stone and Dorsey have received a tour of the facility and there’s even talks of a private dinner with La Russa in San Francisco. We’re happy to see that they’ve worked out their differences and are all getting along fine, though reportedly La Russa still has no clue how to tweet. We have a sneaking suspicion that might change soon.

Pics of the event are below, thanks to Mashable reader @nicholasstevens!
