Using Facebook for B2B and Industrial Internet Marketing

Posted on January 4th, 2010 in Social Media Marketing | No Comments »

Social marketing requires diligence. For an effective push, you should aim to modify your profiles almost daily. A profile could include a Facebook profile, LinkedIn profile and even a Twitter account.  The popular social networks are made for people who regularly visit and update their profiles, or add information to the network such as questions, discussion points or links. User generated content from social networks can be a strong driving force for traffic. Updating profiles often could seem daunting, especially if you’re in the industrial and B2B sector and not accustomed to social marketing. For an easy yet effective start, choose one popular social network to focus on. This is a great way to start your social marketing campaign.

I recommend Facebook as a social network to start with for new online industrial marketing campaigns. The service is usable and mixes a healthy combination of commercial advertising, brands with personal accounts. Facebook, has recently modified its settings to its Fan Pages, which are the profiles which businesses can create. They are places for more commercial groups, companies and brands to set up a profile. You can create a profile for your brand and your employees, customers and friends can become fans of your brand. The fan pages are much like the typical Facebook profile page. One can add a photo, information, and post links videos and events. The great new development of a Facebook fan page is the ability to appear in your fans’ news feed when you update your fan page content. Before, a fan page’s only method of reaching a mass audience was to send a private, official message to fans. Now, with the news feed appearance ability, your fan page actions will show in your fans newsfeed, which will help draw attention to your actions without the need to directly message your fans. You can be inobtrusive, yet still maintain a presence through Facebook, via the newsfeed.

Facebook fan pages are a great way to jump in on b2b and industrial social marketing. If you’re not sure what content to post on your page, or if you have enough ammunition to create a worthwhile profile, consider these ideas: when you have a new product, an event or any announcement you can use your Facebook fan page to send an alert to all your fans; you can post interesting industry links to add value to the marketplace Beyond the normal features that come with a fan page, there are a variety of applications you can add to the fan page to make it more fun and more search-engine friendly.

Facebook pages are now being given SEO-friendly URL’s which means the page addresses are more easily indexed by Google. As for the possible backlinks from a Facebook fan page, if you place a link to your main site from your Facebook fan page, that link is “nofollow”. That link will not be recorded by the search engines. However, if you add the RSS feed application to your page and start pulling in posts from your blog and press releases, those links will provide a kickback, or an additional link to your page.  The keywords from the RSS feed will start enhancing your fan page’s searchability and subsequently give you more exposure. Other great Facebook applications include quizzes, Flickr photostreams, video applications and more. Have fun and add value to your page, and your visitors will follow.

If your company has a young workforce, you likely have social media experts right on staff. Getting everyone in your company involved on your Facebook fan page will help delegate some of your social marketing time. Encourage your employees to become fans and encourage them to post photos from company socials, seminars and other work related and more casual links. Social networks are meant to be fun yet informative. Have fun with your venture into social marketing!

Internet Marketing and Invisible List Building

Posted on January 1st, 2010 in List Building | No Comments »

Copyright (c) 2008 Titus Hoskins

When I first started online marketing I kept hearing the so-called gurus shouting “The Money Is In Your List!” Up until that time the only list that meant anything to me was probably my grocery list. However, as I quickly became familiar with web marketing, list building became one of my key goals.

Mainly because list building is one of the vital elements to your Internet marketing success. It can play an important role in increasing your sales, getting repeat targeted traffic to your sites and a perfect vehicle for branding your product or company. Moreover, your list can be a primary source of business relationships which will help you build your online business since these contacts can be the cornerstones of your online marketing.

While I have fulfilled my main ambition of working full-time on the net, I have not as yet achieved my goal of reaching 100,000 subscribers. When I first started, my goal was getting 1,000 subscribers which I quickly passed, then it was 10,000 which was much harder to reach… getting to 100,000 will take much more time and effort but I believe I will get there eventually.

Maybe that number is a bit foolish, mainly because I learned long ago it is not the size of your list that counts, but how responsive it is. Still, it helps to have a goal set for yourself… and a 100k subscriber list is not an unreachable number especially when you’re talking about the Internet. There are probably more than a few pimply faced teenagers out there who have gotten triple that number of subscribers just by placing some silly videos on YouTube.

Many marketers also make the mistake that list building is all about sales and forget that your list is much more than just for monetary gain. It can be the basis for a whole wealth of ideas and interaction that goes well beyond how many sales you can squeeze out of your list. The really savvy marketers use their lists for market research, product development and treat their lists as a knowledge resource they can tap into, time and time again.

Your list building can also be the foundation of your own vibrant online community. A community that’s interactive and a great source of both ideas and business contacts. Probably the best example of this type of community building would be those communities that spring up through the social networking media sites… and Twitter would be a good example of this type of list building.

Invisible List Building

In studying and using lists over the years, some things have really surprised me. As an affiliate marketer I quickly realized most of my list building was invisible! This happened when I was fairly new at the marketing game, I had trouble with one of my site’s web host and I had to move the whole site to a different server and my site was down for several days… but the strange thing was my online sales from this site still kept coming even though my site was down.

I was totally puzzled (I can be rather slow sometimes!) until I realized or rather learnt the marketing power of cookies. Almost all of the affiliate programs I was promoting on my site were using cookies to mark the traffic or clicks coming from my site as my referrals. If anyone of these referrals made a purchase in the next 30, 60, 90 or more days – I would get credit for the sale.

My site was down, but because I had a whole list of cookied buyers lined up to purchase these affiliate products, my sales still kept coming. I was fairly new at this web stuff then and this was a real eye-opener for me. I started joining those affiliate programs that gave me the longest time-frame with their cookies. Most are around 30 days but there are quite a few that will give 365 days. Some affiliate programs such as Ken Evoy’s Site Build It and Marlon Sanders’ products even give you a life-time cookie.

In affiliate marketing using these “cookies” to build up hundreds of lists of “invisible customers” can be a very effective marketing strategy. You might not see these lists, but they’re quietly working for you in the background, bringing in sales even if your site is down or even when you have stopped a particular campaign.

Of course, the key here again, is how targeted is your marketing. You could have a million cookied customers lined up but if they have no real interest in your product – they won’t turn into buying customers. You must get the potential customer who has shown an interest in your product, onto your invisible cookie list. That’s why ranking high in organic search results for your chosen keywords plays a vital role in how much you earn online, especially if you’re into affiliate marketing. Going the PPC (Pay Per Click) route can also work but the profit margins are much closer.

Nor should you ignore building an actual opt-in list of customers to your autoresponder system in this whole process. Many marketers also try to “cookie” their actual opt-in lists as soon as possible in order to boost their sales. Your invisible cookie lists can work in conjunction with your so-called real lists. Along those same lines, one of my most effective marketing strategies is to use “micro” list building which is building hundreds of small lists of customers for each affiliate product that I promote. In the process of building these lists of potential customers, my first goal is to get these customers “cookied” with my affiliate ID. Then no matter if they buy directly from you or from some other link on the web; you still get credit for the sale.

Another effective marketing technique to use with your lists is to promote a whole group of related brand name products and MAKE SURE you cookie your list with ALL these different products so that no matter which one they eventually choose to purchase, you will still get credit for the sale. This way as a marketer you can come across as a helpful neutral third party pointing out the benefits and disadvantages of each product rather than a pushy salesperson pushing one product at your list. Nobody likes a pushy salesperson, so be a helpful friend instead.

Don’t ignore the effectiveness of these cookies or invisible lists in your online marketing. Used properly they can increase your sales dramatically. You can have hundreds of these invisible cookied lists working for you on the web. When you get down to the actual numbers, a list of 100,000 subscribers can pale in comparison. So next time anyone mentions list building to you, just remember you can always go incognito!

List Building- the Best Online Marketing Business Opportunity!

Posted on December 17th, 2009 in List Building | No Comments »

Most of the information that you read will be focused on marketing appropriately whether using Ad words to offline classified ads or building your email list. Because building a list provides you with organizations and companies that you would not have thought of as revenue for your exact situation. By developing such a list of the members of a target universe, by holding a Medicaid luncheon, by “dripping” on referral sources and by building a senior source guide booklet, a lawyer may well be identified as the pre-eminent source of information on senior affairs in general, and elder law in particular, simply visit to www.build-huge-list.com .In his region. By allowing site visitors to sign up for your nonprofit email newsletter list, you’re building a database of people who are specifically interested in your organization and its well being.

This is a not as much of effective means of building your mailing list but it still works. On the other hand, building an opt-in list is a perfectly acceptable and highly successful method that will keep you from being labeled bad business. Here are ten ways that you can start building or increasing your list today.

The list building online marketing business opportunity is the best in my opinion because of the enormous leverage and marketing power that you can create. Start building your list of responsive peeps from the beginning. The most successful online entrepreneurs concentrate hardest on building as huge an Opt-in list as they can handle in order to get the consumer’s attention and sustained interest. Building a successful opt-in list doesn’t happen in a moment.

Refer back to the issue on keyword list building for keyword avenues you can explore. You can easily incorporate into your online strategies building an email list, developing relationships, responding quickly to a crisis and cutting campaign costs. To know more logon to www.build-own-list.com .There are numerous free list-building programs that offer ways you can build your list. Find one or two in the areas of Internet Marketing you need help with:  SEO, Mini Sites, Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Google Adsense/Adwords, Copy Writing, etc.

Building a media list of local newspapers, trade journals, magazines, web sites, radio and television shows. Here area few ideas for building your mailing list: add all of your customers, offer a free newsletter, offer drawings for free products, do reverse phone number searches on prospects to find their address. Start building your list of responsive peeps from the beginning. None of us know what’s going to be on that equipment list, so get the CCNA and CCNP first – by building your own Cisco home lab. So list building is not just about “recruiting” (although that is certainly very important), but it’s about “retaining” also.

Internet Marketing Strategy: 5 Dumb Mistakes People Make

Posted on December 15th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

You have probably heard business owners complaining that their Internet marketing strategy is just not working. When you ask them what exactly their Internet marketing strategies are, they all tell you a similar story. It’s easy to realize that when Internet marketing SEO is concerned, people are making a lot of stupid mistakes. Here are five common mistakes that people make when promoting their websites.

The first stupid Internet marketing strategy mistake that people make is to trust their Internet marketing consultant fully. Sure, in any business relationship, you are going to have to have trust. But you don’t want to trust them so much that you forget about what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. If, after signing the contract, your Internet marketing consultant puts his feet up and starts relaxing, it may be time to find a new Internet marketing strategy.

Another stupid mistake people make is when they think that Internet marketing SEO is going to solve all of their advertising problems. Sure, Internet marketing is important, but forgetting about more traditional means of advertising for your business is going to keep some people from learning about your business. If you are selling spare computer parts, you may just want to stick to Internet marketing, but if you are selling household clothes, clothing or pizzas, you want to make sure to look into other forms of advertising as well.

The third stupid Internet marketing strategy mistake that people make is to not keep proper records. When starting an advertising campaign, you need to have a baseline – knowing how many customers you are already bringing in, how much profit you are making and so on. If you don’t know these numbers before you start the campaign, how will you know that your Internet marketing strategy is working?

One really stupid mistake is to put your Internet marketing strategy in place before your website is completed. Sure, good Internet marketing strategies are going to get people to come to your site, but if they come to a site that is still under construction, they are not likely to bookmark it and they are not going to come back. Make sure that you have a high quality website and product before starting your marketing.

The fifth stupid mistake is to not have an Internet marketing strategy. Even if you are a company that has just started out, you need one. If you are not on the Internet, you are definitely missing a huge percentage of customers. If you can’t describe what your Internet marketing strategy is, you’re also going to get scammed (or at the very least it will do nothing for your business). You should be able to explain what is going on with your business and what your advertising goals are.

If you are a new business owner, you’re probably excited about the whole process of getting people to come to your site and buy your product. Internet marketing strategy can be complex, and people make a lot of mistakes. The key to a good campaign is understanding how to get the most for what you are paying.

Internet Marketing – Establishing your Reputation and Presence as an Advertising Agency on the Internet Marketing Industry

Posted on December 15th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Probably you are familiar with the neon signs of different business establishments around your locality’s business district.

If you are an avid fan of different television programs, probably you also have noticed different kinds of products flashed on your television screen in between the program that you are watching. Although it is annoying on your part that there are “unnecessary interruptions” when you are watching your favorite program, you cannot do anything about it. As many will say, it is part of the television network’s programming schedule.

On the other hand, if you are a newspaper fanatic whether of a local newspaper or The New York Times, you cannot get rid of several product and service endorsements placed on different parts of the newspaper. Although classified ads is the designated part for such endorsements, you will still find several product and service endorsements on the front page, sports page, and even on the comics section of the newspaper. Just like the television, many will say that is part of the newspaper’s “income-generating activities”.

Advertising is the name of the game.

And its mission is to get “as many clients as possible”.

No holds barred. Just pure business.

Blame it to different advertising agencies. They have started the business and they will continue it until businesses and other organizations need them, which is probably forever.

Advertising agencies provide the marketing needs of different businesses and organizations through advertising methods. They offer a wide range of advertising-related and consultancy services based on market conditions, advance sales strategies, and popular culture.

These advertising agencies create company and product logos, combine and come up with effective and attractive color schemes to catch the attention of consumers to their client’s advertisements. They are also in-charge of brochure and slogan production and the creation of descriptive sales copy of products and/or services of their clients. They may issue press releases about the latest updates and use different mediums such as televisions, newspapers, neon signs, city and interstate billboards, and Internet. Moreover, part of their advertising strategies is to organize events and give away promotional items.

Among different advertising mediums, the opportunity on the Internet bears the most opportunities, especially if you will advertise Internet marketing businesses. This is one of the more profitable endeavors that you can take in the field of online-based advertising. And if you have the necessary advertising skills and expertise as well as the basics of Internet marketing, you have the potential to start with your own advertising agency for Internet marketing businesses.

If you decide to start with your own advertising agency on the Internet, you should learn the various aspects of Internet marketing so that you will be able to come up with an effective advertising method for your Internet-based clients.

This is popular in terms of product sales, helping an Internet marketing business amass wealth through commission payments on multiple levels. Some examples of online-based companies that make use of MLM are the cosmetic and home decoration product lines.

2. Ezines are another advertising method to introduce the products and/or services of an Internet marketing business. Ezines takes the form of electronic magazines that usually tackle a certain area of interest. It works just like a traditional magazine, only that it is cost-efficient and sometimes free. You just need to write a perfect ezine that will persuade its readers to patronize the products and/or services of your client.

3. SEO, or the search engine optimization, is a proven online advertising method, and presently in-demand at this time. It is a system of creating website content that makes use of popular and highly-searched keywords or key phrases related to the nature of your client’s Internet marketing business. These keywords and key phrases are expected to pull the page up when it is used in a search engine. It is one of the crucial points to consider for Internet marketing businesses.

Once you have educated yourself about these advertising concepts, you are ready to learn some complex yet effective advertising schemes and start marketing your online-based advertising agency to various Internet marketing businesses. Internet Marketing – Internet Marketing for Attorneys—legal Marketplace at Its Finest

Posted on December 14th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Attorneys who have been practicing law for many years on small firms are aware of the growth and development of the Internet is consistently changing not just the trading industry but the legal marketplace as well. While most of the small firms around the United States are heavily dependent on the referrals from other lawyers and previous legal-seeking clients, there are just few who have survived without any additional new clients. With the popularity of the Internet among people, the use of Yellow pages is not as effective as what it used to be during recent years.

As a result, the use of Yellow pages is constantly declining while the use of Internet continues to climb. In fact, a research conducted by the Internet World Stats confirmed that nearly 70 percent of the American population uses Internet nowadays. Moreover, a separate research study also confirmed that lawyer-related keywords are among the most-searched keywords from over 180 search engines during the last 12 months of 2005. Some of these highly-searched lawyer keywords were as follows:

â?¢ Personal injury lawyer(s);

â?¢ Criminal attorney(s);

â?¢ Bankruptcy attorney(s);

â?¢ Tax attorney(s);

â?¢ Accident lawyer(s);

â?¢ Divorce lawyer(s);

â?¢ Construction lawyer(s);

â?¢ Real estate attorney(s);

â?¢ Probate lawyer(s);

â?¢ Malpractice attorney(s);

â?¢ Patent lawyer(s);

â?¢ Trial attorney(s);

â?¢ Trademark attorney(s);

â?¢ Business attorney(s);

â?¢ Employment lawyer(s); and

â?¢ Securities lawyer(s).

There are several thousands of searches related to these layer terms are performed every month on over 180 search engines on the Internet. Moreover, some of these areas have an average of 100,000 searches performed every month.

That is how popular Internet is used in locating attorneys across the United States. It is good as saying that individuals who are looking for attorneys to represent them in various legal battles are searched from the Internet than the yellow pages and other existing resources.

That is why there now exists the Internet marketing for attorneys. There are many Internet marketing firms that are encouraging attorneys of different expertise to join the Internet marketing industry and advertise their services on the Internet. Many law firms nowadays have already plunged to the industry, getting steady to massive flow of targeted and qualified traffic from different search engines, particularly those major ones such as Yahoo and Google. This targeted and qualified web traffic will be translated to additional new clientele, boosting the revenues that Internet marketing attorneys earn every month.

There are various ways of marketing law firmâ??s website on the Internet. They may use any of the flowing marketing methods:

â?¢ Search engine optimization (SEO) â?? the pages of a certain law firmâ??s website are optimized by reorganizing the web page content and infusing highly-searched lawyer terms on the Internet. This will provide higher visibility during search engine page results related to legal matters.

â?¢ Pay per click (PPC) advertising â?? just like an ordinary Internet marketer, attorneys can also enroll their sites on PPC advertising, allowing online advertisements posted to their sites. They will be able to earn additional income once a site visitor clicks on any of those online ads.

â?¢ Legal directories â?? it works just like the conventional yellow pages wherein a client can find the law firmâ??s site based on the geographical location and area of expertise. Websites are categorized under such groupings.

â?¢ Legal blog marketing â?? writing blogs is one of the effective ways of getting targeted traffic to websites. Attorneys can write blogs about the cases they have handled as well as provide initial yet useful information about legal matters that are commonly disputed in lower or even in higher courts. They will provide some hyperlink back to their websites that will be clicked by the readers in case they want more information about the topic discussed in the legal blog.

â?¢ Email marketing â?? attorneys will keep a list of potential subscribers who are willing to receive regular newsletters in the form of emails from them. It is one of the effective ways of building new clientele base

â?¢ Multiple domain names â?? more sites, much better. However, other sites must also be registered on its own domain name that will affirm the credibility and reputation of the website owners as law professionals.

Internet marketing for attorneys is the latest trend for those law professionals who are still looking for additional new clientele. Why stick to the Yellow pages if Internet is far more effective?

Internet Marketing – Internet Marketing at a Glance

Posted on December 14th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

There now exists two facades of Internet users—those who are in pursuit of the latest and fresh information about anything of interest and those who are seeing the Internet as an opportunity to earn huge potential revenues. Among these two facades of Internet users, the former considers Internet marketing as a completely mysterious subject to talk about. In fact, it is a foreign area of the web for them, being loaded with ridiculous get-rich-quickly financial schemes and shady characters ready to take advantage of innocent and uninformed consumer within the click of the mouse.

Internet Marketing – Plan, Action, Response—basic Yet the Best Internet Marketing Strategies

Posted on December 13th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Which is better, a traditional pet shop or an online pet shop? By comparing these two specific examples, you will be able to figure out why Internet marketing is very popular among entrepreneurs and aspiring Internet marketers. Take a look and see the big difference.

When you choose a traditional pet shop as your business investment, there are certain things that you need to consider. You need to get business permits from the city or state government through its business licensing division. Since you are operating a pet shop, you need to secure necessary clearances from state health department that all of your pet products came from a reputable source. You also need to have a physical structure that will serve as your shop. You will either rent or construct the premises. For your shop to be popular to the people, you need to advertise it through local newspapers or place some large advertising signs in front of your pet shop. All of these things require hundreds to thousands of dollars before you can operate your traditional pet shop.

Establishing an online pet shop requires you to have a website registered in your own domain name, which will cost you less compared to constructing or renting commercial spaces. Your website will now serve as the pet shop itselfâ??you will provide catalogs containing brief descriptions of your pet products along with its corresponding price tags. Your customers can use the online shopping cart to place the pet items they want to purchase. All payments can be made through credit cards, thus no bulky dollar bills to be handled. You can advertise your site through several waysâ??you can either submit your site for online ad serving programs or you may promote it through writing and submitting articles to article directories. Moreover, you have also the opportunity of earning additional revenues aside from your pet shop through entering your site on affiliate marketing programs.

By just merely looking on these two examples, you will say that Internet marketing has the edge over traditional running of a business. You will not only save time and effort in marketing your products over the Internet, but you can also earn additional incomes through existing Internet-based marketing programs.

Internet marketing is a pure home-based business that does not require an office and several employees. You do not have to commute for several hours and face hordes of traffic and busy people. All you need to have is some spare room that will serve as your â??officeâ? and a personal computer connected to the Internet. You will be able to earn thousands to potential millions of dollars by just working in front of your personal computer.

However, before you will be able to earn millions and build an Internet marketing empire, you must also have the best Internet marketing strategies that will help you achieve your financial objectives. Without these strategies, the chance of earning more will certainly slip out of your hands little by little.

There are many â??best Internet marketing strategiesâ? that you can use, yet they are summarized in three simple yet effective strategies.

1. You need to plan for your Internet marketing activities. There are certain questions to help you arrive on a concrete and effective Internet marketing plan. What do you want to do? What are you offering for sale? How you will market your products or services? Once you have figured out the answers to these questions, you will be able to create a plan for your Internet-based business.

2. You need to take action. Do not just let the plans that you formulated remain as plans forever. You need to convert the words of your plan into actions so that you will see if the plans are working or not.

3. Lastly, do not be deaf to the feedbacks and concerns expressed by your clients. Learn to respond immediately to their feedback so that you will determine if you are getting negative or positive results. In case that you are getting negative results, there is a need to change your approach.

The secrets of success on Internet marketing lie beneath the best strategies that you employ. All other effective strategies will come in line as long as you stick to the basic yet the best strategies in your Internet marketing venture.
