As you may know, Facebook is no longer just for friends to keep in touch with each other. So, without any further delays, let’s get started on promoting and earning more money for your business on Facebook! Simply follow the 5 simple steps below.

1. Go to the sign-up page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php  (This applies to you only if you don’t have an accoutn yet, which I suspect most you do)

2. Choose an appropriate category for your business. This can’t be changed later (if you want to change it, you have to delete that page and start another one), so take the time to choose wisely. Play with the drop-down lists to see the variety of options. Note that you can make a Facebook Page for a single product and there is no limit to the number of Facebook pages you can set up.

3. Type in your business or product or brand name and click “Create Page.”

4. Enter a short description of your business and a Website URL in the “Add Information To This Page” area. If possible, upload your logo as a photo/image.

5. Click on the hyperlink for your business name in the top left corner and click “publish this page.” This step is necessary so that others can see your business profile.

ONE IMPORTANT STEP TO MAKE on your new profile page, click “Add to my products” so that you become the first “fan” of your own business. From this, your other “friends” on Facebook will see something on their site like “Andrew Wang is a fan of your business name.” If any of your friends decide to become a friend to your business, then THEIR friends will see a similar message and the “good virus” begins to spread the word about your business, name or brand.

One powerful feature I love about Facebook Pages is the ability of the Page Administrator (Yes, that’s YOU) to monetize the Page on Facebook. This can be done through applications (including third party applications), but if you already have the ability to carry out sales transactions on your own Website, simply use a link to send Facebook Page visitors to your sales site.

Facebook suggests that you can leverage the effectiveness and viral distribution of your Facebook Page by adding Facebook Social Ads. “Create an ad creative and attach it to stories in News Feed or in the left-hand Ad Space. Social Ads increase the number of friends who will see the story when they visit Facebook, and you can also target the ads to specific demographics.” For more about this, visit this page.

You can school yourself more about how to set up and use Facebook Pages by going to the HELP area and see all the most frequently asked questions. Of particular interest if you already have started a Facebook Group, it can be converted into a Facebook Page. See more about this in the FAQ link just mentioned.

So, start investing some time out now to learn about the powerful features and potential add-ons to make a Facebook Page an effective piece of your overall marketing plan.

Three Inq1 – Facebook Phone Plus Mobile Broadband Equals Epic Win

Posted on December 9th, 2009 in Social Media Marketing | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

With all the hype round the big boys in the industry, some of the smaller mobile phones can get overlooked. And that’s a shame when it’s the Three INQ1, a handset best described as the Facebook phone with mobile broadband built in! For such a cheap handset, this stunner does so much!

What makes a Facebook phone?

So, if you’re going to be selling a Facebook phone, what will it be like? What kind of stuff would you expect it to do, and how would it differ from other mobile phones? Well, there are some silly suggestions some could make for a Facebook phone. If only to clear them out the way so you don’t dwell on them when we actually get to the Three INQ1 Facebook phone, I suppose I’d best list some of them here. Imagine a phone that you could throw sheep at people wherever you were, or zombie hug them. No matter where, you’d always be able to annoy your mates, and type stupid pointless comments on their wall. With a Facebook phone, you’re always linked in to your collective group.

Except, that’s not such a silly pipe dream, because the Three INQ1 really is a phone that does things like that, and more, to truly earn the title of ‘Facebook phone’.

Three INQ1 – the Facebook phone cometh

So, what makes this new entry into the world of mobile phones so special? Why is it so cool? Well, put simply, it’s down to communication. Sure, a few mobile phones have let you get on to Facebook but none of them have had the tight integration you see here. So, with the Three INQ1 Facebook phone, it’s integrated down to the level of putting your friends’ statuses in their phonebook entries, so you can instantly see who’s logged in, and available. It evens pulls down a phonebook image from Facebook, too, and you can upload YOUR images straight from the 3MP camera to your Facebook profile! Mind you, it’s also fair to say it’s not JUST a Facebook phone… it’s a Skype phone, and an MSN phone, and just about any communication-method-under-the-sun phone, too.

But the really cool thing is… the Three INQ1 Facebook phone isn’t even just a phone…

Not just a phone… it does mobile broadband too!

Y’see, while the Three INQ1 Facebook phone is exceptionally nice as a mobile phone, it comes with a HSDPA internet connection. And that, my friends, isn’t just for looking at Facebook on the phone itself. Unlike the vast majority of mobile phones on the market, you can also connect it to your laptop, and use it as a USB modem. That’s right, as well as being a superb mobile phone, the Three INQ1 also gives you mobile broadband, letting you get your laptop online, no matter where you are. There aren’t many mobile phones you can say that about! It doesn’t hurt, either, that the Three INQ1 Facebook phone is clad in shiny brushed metal, giving it a sleek, sexy, sliding body that you’ll want to hold and caress. In short, in case you hadn’t guessed, the Three INQ1, the first proper Facebook phone, is ace!

Expert on mobile phones, having worked in the industry for over 7 years.

The Top Traffic Generators in Internet Marketing History

Posted on December 8th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

The internet is a fabulous place to earn a new income. Creating an internet marketing business isn’t as difficult as you may have convinced yourself, you just need the proper knowledge and the proper resources in order to jump start your extraordinary internet marketing business. The absolute most important tool for all internet marketing businesses is traffic. You can have the best product or the best idea, but without traffic, your website is just a pretty display for you to look at.

Generating traffic is not the first step to creating a profitable internet marketing business, and you need to make sure that your website is functional, fabulous, and the business of being in business is taken care of first.

Traffic refers to those who will ultimately pay your bills and provide you with a new lifestyle. Traffic means people to stop along your piece of the internet marketing business pie. There are numerous ways to generate traffic, and we are going to explore the leading methods to help launch your internet marketing business to the top of the launch pad.

An increased flow of consistent traffic needs to remain the core basic of running an internet marketing business. It is a cut throat world out there on the World Wide Web, and you need to have the more effective traffic stop at your stand. Timing is a vital part of the process, and letting your traffic issues fall to the wayside while you are lounging about waiting for traffic is asking for failure, to cut to the chase.

Advertising search engines are a vital part of increasing traffic and using your advertising dollar to the absolute most while building your internet marketing business. While many potentially successful business people have looked at the cost of programs such as Google AdWords and Overture (a division of Yahoo) and believe that they should pass on it don’t realize that they are passing on the most effective advertising possible. There is a reason why these two methods of search engine advertising is so popular.

You can opt to sign on for a link exchange. This concept has also been a proven traffic booster. Link exchanges create a selective place for you to reach out and advertise to those who aren’t even on your website. Using link exchange as an internet marketing business tool can be very effective, especially if you stay within the general topic that is relevant to your internet marketing business.

Number three on the list of effective internet marketing business tools would be viral marketing. Viral marketing means that you are reaching out to those who aren’t associated as your direct affiliate, but you can still reach their clientele and bring them to your site instead. You can simply develop creative technology, such as interactive games, trivia, educational series, or anything that you may be able to come up with on your own. Just keep it creative and fun.

The effective use of keywords, articles, and search engine techniques will also help to push forward the flow of traffic into your direction. You may need to hire a little assistance, but keyword technology is absolutely amazing. Google and Yahoo both have developed user friendly access to their results techniques, which can help direct you in the right direction should you be new to internet marketing businesses. Using web content is a very effective manner. If a user sits down and types in keywords that match your web content, and you have enough web content to attract the search engine’s attention, there will be people from all over the world who have never even heard of you waiting for the right information to fall into their screen. Writing articles, or hiring someone to write them for you, is the same idea with a different principle. Your articles will have a link that brings the user back to your site for more information and ordering processes.

Forums and newsletters offer a valuable resource for the internet marker. Traffic often responds to finding out new information, that wants to be well informed and even participatory. Your job is to make sure that your articles are free of plagiarism and offer valuable content. Newsletters give you a reason to stay in touch and to slowly work on those customers that need more time deciding whether or not they are interested in your internet marketing business.

The more you can get the word out about who you are, what you are all about, what you offer, and how to find you, the more traffic you are going to find happening along your website, which of course is the primary goal of any internet marketing business.

Internet Marketing 2.0 – Woofers Becoming Tweeters!

Posted on December 8th, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Yes, it’s true – woofers are becoming tweeters in record numbers as a result of the Web 2.0 site Twitter. More and more of the Internet marketing ‘Big Dogs’ are posting a few times a day on Twitter, where the mini-blog posts are called ‘tweets’. But while definitely a Web 2.0 community site, it’s value is quite different to the Internet marketing community.

Tweets are limited to 140 characters, so all messages have to be kept brief – no long-winded sales pitches here. And, unlike the other Web 2.0 sites, Twitter uses a ‘nofollow’ tag, preventing the search engines from considering your posts as one-way links back to your sites, and preventing them from spidering a new site based on your links there.

So if there’s no search engine optimization benefits to posting a link there, why are virtually all of the big-name Internet marketers taking the time to read posts and post their own information on Twitter? From what has transpired there so far, it would seem there are three main reasons to use Twitter in your Internet marketing efforts.

First up, your core followers can click a link to ‘follow’ you on Twitter, meaning they can read everything you post there from their own Twitter page. This makes for an easy way for fans to keep up with what you’re up to, and also to contact you either via replies to your tweets or by direct messaging. With so many Internet marketing mavens being completely swamped with e-mails and support desk issues, this might well become a standard means of contact with the otherwise unreachable superstars of Internet marketing.

Secondly, many of the tweets are quite simple and unrelated to business – ‘taking the kids to the park’ or ‘off to see the new James Bond flick’. This allows people to see a more human side of big-time Internet marketers, to see they’re just like the rest of us but with a bigger budget. This ‘human connection’ aspect may yet turn out to be the biggest part of the Twitter advantage, since the online world can seem quite cold and austere to those not overly experienced in the online world in general and Internet marketing in particular.

And thirdly, because you can reply to tweets of the people you’re following there, Twitter is rapidly becoming an easy solution for those in Internet marketing to stay in touch, to reach out to each other, and to maintain a sense of community between the live Internet marketing events. Spread out around the globe, many Internet marketers see each other only once every year or two, and often not even that frequently – many never meet their Internet marketing partners and compatriots in the offline world.

But so far Twitter does the best job of overcoming that hurdle, creating a sense of community that extends from the biggest internet marketing and affiliate marketing superstars right down to the newest of newbies – and as such may well also become the industry’s top resource for meeting, cultivating and recruiting future Internet marketing Joint Venture partners as well.

To put Twitter to use in your internet marketing or affiliate marketing arsenal, start by setting up a free account there using your real name (for branding and so others can find you easily), and then clicking the links to follow the posts of those Internet marketers you’re most interested in. Get a feeling for the common posts there, and soon you’ll be tweeting along with the best of them – and you’ll see your following growing right along with the list of Internet marketers you’re following there too.

Happy Tweets!

Backlinks: What They are and How to Get Them

Posted on December 8th, 2009 in SEO | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

Sometimes called inbound links, backlinks are the lifeblood of Search Engine Positioning. In order for a website to be on the top of search engines like Google without the webmaster having to pay big money for advertising, the website has to have a large number of backlinks. Backlinks are links on one website that lead back to another website. The more established, high quality, and high Page Rank the website that contains the link has, the more power it has to help the linked website with its search engine position. If the website that is getting backlinks gets many High Quality and High Page Rank backlinks, the better the chance it has of being in a high position on the Search Engines.

How does a webmaster go about getting high quality backlinks to his or her website? There are many ways this can be done. Some people advocate writing and submitting articles, posting on forums, making comments on blogs. Others talk about submitting their website to various Internet directories. One directory that has an excellent reputation is called DMOZ, or the “Open Directory”. This directory is probably the most respected directory online today. The websites it contains have all been placed there by human editors; there is no “automation” to this directory. The only drawback that’s been discussed about this directory is that it takes so long to have a website included.

Another way that many people build backlinks for their website is to use Social Bookmarking websites. A “Social Bookmark” is a website that usually has a very popular ‘community’ aspect to it. Users sign up and create profiles on the sites that contain photos and information about themselves. They then can save “bookmarks” of favorite websites which can be itemized by ‘tags’, which are one or two word descriptions of what the sites contain, and these bookmarks can be saved to a list that’s private or can be listed publicly, so that everybody can see it.

With the advent of what is known as Web 2.0, gaining backlinks is easier now than in any time in the history of the internet. Most sites now have an “interactive” quality to them nowadays. Readers can often sign in and create profiles. They then are often allowed to post comments on the stories or articles on the website or blog. In many cases, the website or blog owner responds to these comments; thus making this section of the website or blog a conversation.

Backlinking strategies can be easy and fun and the website owner who is working on getting more backlinks for his website can learn new things, meet new people, and have a tremendous amount of fun doing something that was once a chore: building backlinks.

Importance of Page Rank

Posted on December 5th, 2009 in Google | 1 Comment »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

Every website worth its name is today swearing by Google Page Rank. To put it simply, Google Page Rank is a tool developed by Google, based on clearly defined set of algorithms, to determine the importance of a website or a webpage. PR or Page Rank is determined by the number of websites linking to the particular website. Here the catch is that the linking websites should be relevant to the linked website and must have high page ranks themselves.

Search Engine Optimization is at the root of the need for improving the Page Rank of a website. The higher your Google PR, the higher your website would be listed in the Google Search. The more number of websites are linked to yours, the more votes you would get for getting a higher PR.

The relevance of the linking websites is very important. Mere linking to websites whose page ranks are abysmally low, does not in any way help to get your PR improved. There are no easy approach to improving your PR all of a sudden. Obviously if you are exchanging links with reputed websites with high Page Rankings, then you are well on your way to improving the PR of your website. Here again the relevance of the linking websites to your website is very crucial.

A Web Development website would achieve no purpose if it were to link with many internet marketing or art websites.

Linking to websites without exchanging or adding their links to your website is actually more rewarding. But this often comes at a price. Free linking without exchanging is often a waste of time since most of the free-linking websites make you wait interminably.

Page Rank of the website or webpage linking with your site is very important. This determines the number of votes that your website receives on account of such linking. Every new website or webpage starts with a Page Rank Zero. Google updates the Page Rank on a regular basis. Hence care must be taken to ensure that the web page you are linking with has a high PR.

It is better to ensure that there are fewer links outgoing on the page that you are linking with, so that you receive more PR value. The higher the links, the larger the sharing of PR value. To explain further, if you link with a webpage with PR of 6 which has 100 outgoing links, the PR value you receive would be considerably less than that you would receive when you link with a webpage of PR 4 which has only 10 outgoing links.

Web pages which display your links in Java Script do not help you improve your PR. Similarly if your links are ones which are redirected ,they too have no value or bearing on your PR. Most websites which offer free linking services actually trick their clients by such links which have no value.

Page Rank of your website can be improved considerably by two methods. One is to build a website with such quality and content that other websites would automatically want to link with. The PR would improve dramatically on its own. The other method is if you are building a marketing or product oriented website, then better work hard by link building with high PR websites.

7 Time-tested Content Types for Driving Web Traffic to Your Site

Posted on December 4th, 2009 in traffic | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

If you have website or a blog, you need to create contents that people find useful. If the content is valuable, other sites will link to your content and you will increase the number of back links to your site. These back links will not only generate direct traffic from those sites, it will also help increase your search engine ranking and organic traffic.

So, what types of contents are baits for other sites to link to your sites? This article discusses seven types of contents that are proven to be magnets for back links. Try out a few of these techniques to increase your links and traffic.

1. Crete “How To” Guides. This type of guides is popular and also very useful to the readers Write down a few ideas related your niche and use authoritative websites to do your research.

Make it a step-by-step, preferably numbered like 1, 2, etc., guide. It should be as simple as a recipe but has enough details for some one to follow the steps to accomplish something.

2. Write controversial opinion on breaking news. Don’t repeat the news. Big news organizations have hundreds of paid stuff for news reporting. You need to analyze the news and offer your own opinions. However, if the opinion is off main stream, it has better chance of attracting others attentions.

3. Videos are becoming ever popular on the web. Create a video related to your niche but make it funny. People love funny videos. You can use kids and pets to create funny video shots and than try to tie those shots to your niche. Upload to a few popular video sites like YouTube and Metacafe. Don’t forget to put your website link in the video and embed the video in your website.

4. Keep a small inexpensive digital camera in you car all the time. When you come across funny things like, billboard and road signs, license plates, etc., take pictures and post it on your site and popular picture sharing sites like flickr, smugmug, etc.

5. Create a web tool related to your niche. Web tools like mortgage calculator, carbon foot print calculator, etc. are popular and useful. Ask your site visitors what type of tools they want to see on your site.

Once you have the details of what the tool should do, go to elance, rent-a-coder, or online programmers and webmasters forums to solicit bids for developing the tool. You don’t have to know any software programming, but you have to know exactly what the tools should do.

6. Solicit ideas for contests from forums you visit regularly and start a contest on your site. Announce it in forums related to your niche. Give away free stuff at least worth $50 to the winner and token prizes to all finalists.

Consider it as your advertisement spending. Run the contest for a month or so for the word to spread around. Encourage your visitors to spread the word.

7. Interview well-known personality in your niche and post the interview on your site. Write to bloggers in your niche about the interview. If the interviewee has some insightful thoughts, other bloggers will write about it and link to the original interview published in your site.

Bloggers use the seven content types described above for viral marketing and link baiting to increase traffic to their sites. If you are running a web site, not a blog, you can still employ these techniques to claim you share of the web traffic in your niche.

Internet Marketing Basics You Must Know

Posted on December 3rd, 2009 in Internet Marketing | No Comments »

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/webtraff/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787

What is Internet marketing? In short, Internet marketing is a marketing method which you will be promoting your products and services online. Many businesses are starting to realize the potential of the Internet and are developing dedicated Internet marketing departments to secure their online market share.

Why Internet Marketing is Powerful?
Internet has become a popular medium where people spend their time participating in various discussions. They discuss about everything. Sex, girls, hunks, cars, money and even their bosses. If you do not pay specific attention to the online world, you are not paying enough attention to your customers.

They might be discussing about the field you are in, a problem that they want a product to solve and most importantly, they might be discussing about your company.

Internet Marketing for Market Research
When you got yourself started in Internet marketing, for most of the time, you will be doing keyword research using various tools and search engines. By applying the knowledge, you are able to identify whether there is a demand for a particular product or whether people have a need for the products that you are developing.

Market research is extremely vital for a business and no business owners should spend money developing something that no people will buy. Also, sites like eBay and Amazon provide crucial information on customers buying patterns. Thus, to get these results clearly and cheaply, you must move into Internet marketing and learn the knowledge and skills.

Internet Marketing – Cheap Marketing
Most small and medium size companies or sole traders have limited advertising funds. The Internet, in this case, is a perfect marketplace for these business owners. Why? Product owners and service providers can reach their end users and customers directly via the Internet, often without the need of spending thousands on advertisement costs.

Social media and search engines can be utilized to secure and interact with customers. Building a close bond is much easier on the Internet. Thus, a considerable amount of knowledge on Internet marketing is advantageous for a business, especially in the coming few years as more and more people are getting online.
